Excellence, Grit, Integrity, and Service Built Luttrell Staffing Group

In 1993, due to a prior failed business attempt, David Luttrell was broke and close to bankruptcy.  However, he still believed in himself.  He knew with a lot of hard work, determination, and prayer he could get back on his feet and build a successful business.

So, when an opportunity arose to purchase an underperforming AtWork Personnel Services office in Greeneville, TN on a note payment, he jumped at the chance.  He believed he could turn that business around. At the same time, he also opened a small location in Rogersville, TN.

After several months he acquired a couple of sizable manufacturing accounts and slowly and methodically his business became profitable. His brother, Marty, joined him in 1994 and since then, the company hasn’t looked back and has continued to grow.

Our mission has always been straightforward: As a dedicated partner to the success of employers and job seekers, cultivate and build relationships through excellence in staffing.

Today, Luttrell Staffing Group is providing comprehensive workforce solutions to 690 companies, clients, and organizations across Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Kentucky, Illinois, and California, all of which provide thousands of jobs and generate more than $145 million in annual revenue.  In fact, last year we processed 13,925 W2s – connecting workers with opportunities.  And we are growing every year!

Mary Wagner, President & COO of Luttrell Staffing Group

The greatest satisfaction that I have experienced in my nearly 28 years of working with this team is when a job seeker gets hired full time. And then years later we cross paths, and they tell me about their career trajectory and the impact that we had on their life and their family’s life through our partnerships with local businesses.

I credit our success to 4 values that our team holds dear and strive to practice every day:  Excellence, Grit, Integrity, and Service.

Excellence: The quality of being outstanding or extremely good.

Grit: The resilience, perseverance, and passion to achieve business goals while overcoming challenges.

Integrity: The quality of being honest and fair.

Service: The intentional act of helping others; and providing value to someone daily.

Since that day in 1993, our business has continued to grow steadily and organically through new branches to support our customers in a different market or through acquisitions that align with our mission to serve.

We continue working to reinvent what excellence looks like for Luttrell Staffing Group.

In 2019, Luttrell Staffing Group was officially launched as we were no longer part of the AtWork franchise system but an independent staffing firm with the flexibility to grow and serve with boundless opportunities.  It was the natural solution for our rebranding – a name the company could grow with.

As April 2024 marked our 31st anniversary, we’ve spent time reviewing what our business partners can expect from us today and into the future. These are the key elements that give our customers a unique experience:

  1. Assurance of Excellence – Being recognized as the Best in Staffing for customers for 12 consecutive years, places us in the top 1% of all staffing firms. This isn’t just our accolade; it is our commitment to our customers’ success.
  2. Efficiency and Productivity – Our dedication to living our proprietary Proven Process is your key to top-quality talent and continuous improvement.
  3. Peace of Mind – Our tenured staff is certified by the American Staffing Association and is equipped for any scenario. This means you can navigate complex workforce challenges with peace of mind, knowing you have the right partner.
  4. Exceeded Expectations – Our Second Mile Commitment Initiative, built on decades of data about what customers value most, is our newest Proven Process program that makes exceeding your expectations our baseline level of service. Performance measurements across the organization will ensure premium, prompt, tailor-made services with acute attention to detail.

As we look ahead in anticipation of what the next 30 years may hold, we must reflect on how we got here. David credits our achievements to our unwavering commitment to core values: Excellence, Grit, Integrity, and Service, emphasizing gratitude for the grace and blessing bestowed by God above all else.

Growing Crisis as Companies Become Victims of Identity Theft and Fraud

This is a summary from a recent podcast by Mark Krikorian and Ben Weingarten

Federal authorities estimate that more than one million people in the United States, many of them illegal aliens, are using Social Security numbers belonging to someone else. However, government agencies choose to look the other way, allowing Americans, including young children, to be victimized by identity thieves.

Ben Weingarten joined Parsing Immigration Policy to talk about a report on ID theft he co-authored for RealClearInvestigations.com, where he is deputy editor. Weingarten discusses with Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies and host of the podcast, various steps the federal government can take to address this widespread fraud.

The Earnings Suspense File is an accounting tally kept by the Social Security Administration of wages reported on W-2 forms, where the information does not match the SSA’s records. Weingarten said some of these mismatches are legitimate, such as in the case of a name change, but the tenfold increase in the total wages recorded in the file is in large part due to the explosion of the number of illegal aliens in the U.S., many of whom are working on the books with SSNs that are not their own.

Weingarten says, “Government agencies not only know that there is a substantial amount of identity fraud going on in the workplace, but they want to turn the other way on it. They believe they have an incentive to turn the other way on it.” Federal officials, including members of Congress, Weingarten says, argue that this identity theft is actually beneficial because illegal immigrants contribute to federal tax revenue. Meanwhile, they ignore the American citizens – typically Hispanics or children, or both – who are victims of this identity fraud by illegal aliens.
