April 2025 marks 32 years of business operations for Luttrell Staffing Group, an award-winning staffing agency headquartered in Kingsport, Tennessee. Founded in April 1993 by David Luttrell – who along the way added his brother, Marty, and Marty’s wife, Lana to company ownership – the firm has grown over the past three decades from a single branch in Greeneville, Tennessee to over 35 locations across seven states.
“Luttrell Staffing Group is grateful and thankful for the success our company has experienced over the past 32 years,” ownership shared. “Certainly, it is no secret that we have had challenges over the past year, but we firmly believe the Lord Jesus has been our guide throughout our past and will give us the wisdom to move forward in His will. We would also like to mention what a wonderful team of staff we have and appreciate everyone for their hard work and dedication to our company.”

We are excited to shine our employee spotlight on Kimberly Holden, Luttrell Staffing Group’s Director of Business Development. Kim celebrated her 17th year anniversary with Luttrell last quarter, and we cannot thank her enough for the contributions she has made to the organization.
When asked what makes Luttrell so special, special enough to spend 17 years with the team, Kim had no other answer than the people and the relationships she has built within the company and our communities.
In her role, Kim supports the team of Business Development Managers leading by example and sharing her knowledge and expertise she has gained over the years. In her career with Luttrell Staffing Group, Kim has achieved President’s Club five times indicating her superior efforts in cultivating growth and partnerships with our clients.
One accomplishment Kim is eternally proud of comes from 2018, when Kim was awarded Luttrell’s coveted Staffing Professional Employee of the Year. “Luttrell is full of talented and top-performing employees,” Kim shared. “It was an absolute honor to receive this award when there are a number of my colleagues who hold themselves to the highest level of excellence and work extremely hard to succeed in their roles. There are so many who deserve this recognition- I am incredibly grateful.”
If Kim had to pick a theme song for her workday, the choice is none other than ‘Made for More” by Josh Baldwin. Kim expressed that she had always known one of her gifts was serving. In her professional life, it brings her immense joy to help others succeed and grow to their fullest potential. She believes that it should not matter what position one holds, that it is crucial for everyone to know that they have purpose and value, especially here at Luttrell.
“You called out my name,” a line from Kim’s workday theme song could not ring truer for her this past year. In the nature of being ‘made for more’, Kim felt the ultimate calling six months ago, when the Appalachian community was impacted like never before. Hurricane Helene ripped through communities in North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia the week of September 26, 2024. In the wake of the destruction and darkness when all was lost and there was little hope in seeing a way back to normal, a light of pure faith and servitude was born. Communities rallied together to feed, clothe and supply those who were affected.
Kim and her husband, Rodney, immediately sprang into action and haven’t slowed down since. While Kim usually enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, fishing, and hiking the great outdoors- these personal interests have taken a backseat. All of her free time is now filled with volunteering and serving the survivors of Hurricane Helene. Kim and Rodney spend their weekends commuting to affected communities delivering supplies and volunteering their time and manual labor.
Kim and Rodney’s experience has profoundly changed their lives, just like so many others. A new sense of community has been formed during their volunteering journey. Individuals from across the region have planted seeds in these affected communities by building bonds and friendships not only with the locals, but with other travelers who are doing their part in giving back.
The Holden duo has no intentions to finalize their volunteer work anytime soon. As long as there is one person in need, the ‘calling’ will remain in Kim’s heart. When asked what advice Kim would give to those interested in volunteering, “Just take the first step!” Kim said. “There are several groups dedicated to serving your local communities that can be found on social media. Local Churches and organizations like Samaritan’s Purse and Appalachian Serve Project are also suitable places to show your interest in volunteering.”
Luttrell Staffing Group is blessed to have members like Kim Holden, not only on our team, but serving in the communities we support. Kim is a true testament to ‘making people matter most’ and we thank her for the service she has given over the past 17 years, especially the second mile she has gone over the last 6 months.
